Calvary Christian baseball players Matt Piatt and Luis Lopez have committed to play at Polk State College, according to coach Greg Olsen. As a junior, Piatt hit .400 with 30 RBIs, both team highs. He was also 3-3 with a 2.55 ERA in 35.2 innings pitched.

Polk State, a junior college in Winter Haven, finished 45-10 and ranked third in the country. It won the state junior college tournament and advanced to the national junior college championship.

Both Piatt and Lopez also play football for Calvary Christian.
