Who was it that said luck is when hard work meets preparation? Seneca the Younger? Oprah? Regardless, Brandon Park, a Cambridge Christian linebacker, personifies this popular quip perfectly in this Top-10 worthy highlight:

“I was watching film, and I knew their splits, what plays they were doing when they split out. I knew exactly what play was coming.”

If you look closely, Park, who is lined up opposite the wide receiver at the top of the screen, does point directly at his man. “He knew the wide receiver was cheated in,” Lancers coach Bob Dare said. “I’ve never quite seen a play like that, an interception on a quick pitch.”

That somersault Park did into the end zone did earn him an excessive celebration penalty. “I got in some trouble for it from the coaches,” he said. “But all the players loved it, of course.”

Park will be looking to repeat his performance against Bishop McLaughlin this Friday. Cambridge has put in the same preparation—the Lancers ran all of their opponent’s plays in practice on Wednesday.
