Reilly Campbell is resigning as Bishop McLaughlin’s head basketball coach, Hurricanes athletic director Tom LoSauro said Thursday afternoon.

“Resigned as Head Basketball Coach at Bishop McLaughlin,” Campbell said via Twitter. “Thanks to all who supported me over the last season. Looking forward to whats next!”

LoSauro said Campbell resigned to move closer to his family near Jacksonville.

Bishop McLaughlin hasn’t posted the opening yet and will consider its options in the coming days.

Campbell served as an assistant at Oldsmar Christian and Sarasota Out-of-Door Academy before being named Bishop’s head coach in August. The Hurricanes posted a 5-20 record this winter in Campbell’s first season as a head coach.
