Canterbury QB Dominique Thornton will make an official visit to the University of Charleston (W.V) on Jan. 15. The program’s coaches have told Thornton he is their top recruit on offense and they believe he will contribute early at either QB or WR, according to Canterbury coach Stephen Dudley.

Thornton is 6-foot-3, 175 pounds.

“Charleston coaches like Thornton's elusiveness as well as his frame,” Dudley said in an e-mail to the Times. “They feel like Dominique is just scratching the surface of his potential, and would add a new dimension to their offense at QB or WR.”

In addition to Charleston, Thornton is receiving interest from James Madison, Harding University and Presbyterian, Dudley said.
