Canterbury's Hughes signs with Belmont Abbey

Canterbury senior catcher Dalton Hughes has signed a letter of intent to play at Belmont Abbey College in Charlotte, N.C., according to coach Dave Smith. Hughes has batted over .300 for his career at Canterbury.

This year, Hughes is batting .309 with 16 RBI and six doubles. He also has two triples and a home run for the Crusaders, who are district runners-up and play a regional game on Wednesday.
