Canterbury FB/DE Jeremy Dolan will make an official visit to Wingate (N.C.) this weekend. Wingate coaches are projecting the 6-foot-2, 230-pounder as a DE.

Dolan also is receiving interest from the University of Charleston, Harding, Lenoir-Rhyne and West Chester, according to Canterbury coach Stephen Dudley.

Dolan was used primarily as a blocking FB for 9-1 Canterbury last season. He helped pave the way for two rushers to gain 900-plus yards.

“College coaches are impressed with his speed and athleticism for a player his size,” Dudley said in an e-mail. “The various college programs feel Jeremy will develop into a 240 to 250-pound DE given his frame and body type.”

Dudley also had this to say about Dolan: “What makes Jeremy's accomplishments so remarkable is that Jeremy sustained a serious knee injury requiring a very complicated surgery at the end of his junior season. Jeremy overcame major adversity to return stronger and faster than before the injury to have an incredible season. The Sunshine State Athletic Conference named him the ‘Comeback Player of the Year’ this past season. His coaches and teammates saw what Jeremy went through to overcome this injury, and it was an inspiration to see him return to the field even faster, tougher and more physical than before his injury.”
