'Cats' Litton reinstated, dad says

The suspension of Wharton two-sport sophomore Chase Litton from extra-curricular activities at his school has been lifted, his father confirmed to the Times on Monday.

Litton, the Wildcats' 6-foot-6 quarterback and low-post starter on the basketball team, had been suspended two weeks ago following his Feb. 8 arrest with football teammate Rocky Enos on a series of felony burglary and theft charges. He missed the Wildcats' one-point loss to underdog East Lake in the Class 8A playoffs on Feb. 16.

Jeff Litton said a day after that loss he had received an e-mail from Wharton principal Brad Woods outlining the suspension until Chase Litton's legal situation had been resolved. In a text message Monday evening, Jeff Litton declined to elaborate on his son's case while it's ongoing, other than to confirm his reinstatement at Wharton.
