Clearwater Central Catholic's football team received a boost with the addition of receiver Domenic James, who transferred from Dunedin this week.

James, who had 25 receptions for 325 yards last season, would have been the Falcons' top returning receiver with the graduation of Sharrod Harriel.

"I know Domenic has enrolled here, but I don't know much about him," Marauders coach John Davis said. "My guess is he would be a receiver here."

James would help replace Devante Mitchem, who has left CCC according to Davis. Mitchem reportedly is headed to East Lake, though Eagles coach Bob Hudson said Mitchem is not with the team at a camp this week.

"I've had some people tell me he is coming here, but I have not seen it," Hudson said. "Maybe we'll know more next week."

Used primarily as a deep threat last season, Mitchem gained 148 yards on three receptions, all of which went for scores. This would be Mitchem's third school in the past two seasons. He transferred from Boca Ciega to CCC last season.

The Marauders also lost receiver/linebacker Branden Leston, who transferred back to Clearwater this offseason.
