Clearwater Central Catholic’s Patrick Camporini got the attention of college recruiters by emerging as a solid starting pitcher and leading the team in strikeouts with 46 this past season.

And after whittling down his list of schools, Camporini orally committed to Georgetown this week.

Camporini, who will become the Marauders’ ace this season, has been a three-year starter and was on the 2007 team that won the Class 3A state title. He also has 4.31 grade point average.
