CCC's Conner Dorris commits to Navy

Clearwater Central Catholic fullback/linebacker Conner Dorris committed to the U.S. Naval Academy on Monday, Marauders coach John Davis said.

"The thing that sold me on the Naval Academy were the people. They have great character and the school will provide a lot of opportunities for me," Dorris said.

Dorris picked the Midshipmen over Air Force and Akron.

“Conner decided he didn’t want to wait any longer,” Davis said. “I couldn’t be more thrilled for him.”

Dorris, who transferred from Palm Harbor University in the offseason, was a first-team, all-county selection as a linebacker and helped the Marauders reach the Class 3A state championship game for the first time.
