Clearwater Central Catholic senior volleyball outside hitter Mary Michael Toups will be absent from the Marauders' lineup for two weeks and possibly longer as she battles the effects of mono.

Toups, who leads CCC offensively with 4.3 kills a game, sat out her first game Tuesday as the Marauders fell to Northside Christian in four games. CCC coach Andrew Wilson said Toups will definitely miss the Marauders' next three games, and the hope is that she'll return for the Mustang Invitational at Northside Christian on October 16-17.

"We'll find out in two weeks if she'll be back once they do more blood work," Wilson said. "There's a possibility that she wouldn't be able to come back until after the Northside tournament."
