Carrollwood Day two-way senior Darius Bing's dazzling exploits at the small-school level have generated small-college interest.

Not to mention some overtures from at least one Division I program.

Patriots coach Lane McLaughlin said Division II West Georgia and Towson University, along with D-I Middle Tennessee, either have sent Bing information or requested some of his game tape, or both.

The connection with MTSU: It currently has five players from Jefferson, where McLaughlin served as receivers coach/recruiting coordinator before starting the CDS program last year. Among them is 5-foot-9, 166-pound cornerback Alex Suber, physically a near mirror image of Bing (5-5, 160).

In five games, Bing has posted career-type numbers including 799 total yards, 58 tackles, three interceptions (all returned for scores) and 15 touchdowns.

Correction: Lane McLaughlin previously served as receivers coach/recruiting coordinator at Jefferson. An incorrect title was listed in a previous version of this post.
