Central senior center Josh Hughes has orally committed to the University of Minnesota at Crookston and will sign a letter of intent with the program on Feb. 1.
Hughes was the Bears’ starter this past season and one of the few who didn’t miss a game because of injury over the course of the season. Golden Eagles coach Paul Miller has offered Hughes a scholarship for the fall campaign.
Miller is a veteran football coach with over 35 years of experience and is taking over the Minnesota-Crookston program after serving as the team’s offensive coordinator.
The Golden Eagles are a Division II program and compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The team is coming off a 1-10 season with its only win coming in the season opener over Marysville State (N.D.), 31-29.
