The Central football team’s offense will have its hands full Friday night.
The Bears’ 4A-5 opponent, Gainesville, has not one but two Division I-A recruits on its defense. And both players are headed to “the U.”
One of them is DB Devont’a Davis. The other is LB linebacker Kevin Nelson.
Each recently pledged to Miami after considering a ton of other offers.
Rivals.com rates both players as three-star prospects.
The recruiting Web site calls the 6-foot-2, 180-pound Davis the country’s 78th-best DB prospect. The 6-1, 220 Nelson is ranked as the 16th best inside linebacker.
The Purple Hurricanes (6-1) have allowed 100 points this season.
