Tampa Catholic defensive lineman Taylor Timmons has added another scholarship offer to his collection.
The University of Central Florida became the ninth school to offer the 6-foot-2, 285-pound senior, said his father, Taylor Timmons Sr., at the Crusaders' practice Tuesday afternoon. He averaged 3.5 tackles per game last season, according to Maxpreps.com.
Bowling Green, Ohio University, Western Kentucky and Washington State are a few of his other choices, his father said. He added that Vanderbilt, Marshall and West Virginia are among the schools still looking at him.
Timmons probably won’t announce his decision until national signing day in February in order to give himself time to take as many recruiting trips as he can. The Timmons family is no stranger to this process—the elder Timmons played at the University of Miami, lettering three times and graduating in 1979.
