Cypress Community Church will host a prayer vigil for Wharton junior LB Sean McNamee at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The church is located at 15820 Morris Bridge Road.

McNamee has been in a medically induced coma since having emergency surgery last week. He injured himself on Oct. 9, when he hit his head on a paint machine while playing catch before football practice.

Wharton’s football team hosts Alonso on Friday.
