SARASOTA — Canterbury, which is trying to make its fourth straight state tournament, rallied in the final inning Friday to dispatch Sarasota Christian 7-3 in the Class A, Region 3 semifinals.
The Crusaders (19-10) broke a 3-all tie with four runs in the top of the seventh.
The Blazers (21-4) held a 3-1 lead until the fifth inning when the Crusaders’ Krissy Longstreet hit a two-run homer with one out.
Longstreet ended up going 3-for-4 on the day and also picked up the win in relief.
Cassidy Miller accounted for all of Sarasota Christian’s runs, going 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs.
Canterbury goes on the road Tuesday to West Palm Beach Berean Christian.
