The Clearwater boys basketball program welcomed the return of Matt O'Donnell, who missed the first half of the year with an ACL injury.

O'Donnell, a senior who transferred from St. Petersburg Catholic, was cleared to play Jan. 5 and saw his first action of the season Jan. 8 against Tarpon Springs. The long-distance shooter entered the game in the fourth quarter against the Spongers and hit four 3-pointers.

The addition of O'Donnell gives the Tornadoes a potent outside threat to go along with the inside presence of Okaro White and John Hogan.

"We're starting to get all of our pieces together," Clearwater coach Allen Carden said. "But we're still having to deal with some nagging injuries."
