Five weeks after signing day, Countryside running back Alton Taylor got an offer and took advantage of it, signing with Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Taylor took a recruiting trip to the Division I-AA school this past week. He will be used as a running back and could see playing time as a freshman.
This past season, Taylor broke the Cougars' single-season record for rushing yards with 1,975 yards and set a county record with 30 touchdowns. He also helped Countryside advance to the Class 5A region final, where the Cougars lost to eventual state champion Plant.
