Looks like Countryside will be heading to Plant for Friday's big playoff rematch at full strength.
Leading rusher Diomi Roberts, who has 1,251 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns, will play after his second unsportsmanlike conduct penalty from last week's win over Tampa Bay Tech was retracted.
Florida High School Athletic Association spokesman Seth Polansky said the officiating crew called Saturday morning and "overturned themselves" on a call they made on Roberts' last touchdown in the 34-21 victory.
Roberts was penalized for high-stepping into the end zone, and while he may have added a little panache to the last 10 yards of his run, it was determined the jaunt wasn't quite as excessive as the referees thought.
You can check out the second penalty -- the flag is thrown instantly -- at the six-minute mark of Friday Night Rewind right here.
It was Roberts' second penalty, which would have earned him a one-game suspension and kept him on the bench for this week's region final. Countryside (12-0) was going to appeal, but now won't have to.
Losing Roberts would have been a devastating loss to the Cougars, who rely heavily on their big offensive line and running attack.
