Countryside defensive back Mike Johnson whittled down his list of offers by announcing a tentative list of his top 10 schools on Saturday.

Johnson's list is wide-ranging and includes just state schools: Florida State and UCF. The other colleges who made his cut are: Arizona, Louisville, Purdue, Rutgers, Syracuse, Texas  Tech, Vanderbilt and Virginia.

Since the spring, Johnson has picked up plenty of offers and now has 20. But he wanted to pare the list down so he can concentrate on where to take his visits. That list could change if more offers come, particularly from state schools such as Florida or Miami.

"The schools I listed are really the ones that showed the most interest," Johnson said. "I figured it was a good time to get that out of the way."

The only visit Johnson currently has set up is to Vanderbilt July 12-14. He most likely will take trips to schools n the state starting next month.
