Countryside defensive lineman Mike Love, who already has offers from Alabama-Birmingham, Florida A&M and Ohio, got one from Iowa State on Thursday.
It is the most significant offer so far for Love, the Times 2011 Pinellas County defensive player of the year. It could also signal the start of major offers to come for one of the area's top recruits in the 2013 class.
This past season Love had a breakthrough performance with 15.5 sacks, 56 tackles (50 solo) and three caused fumbles. The Cyclones, who have 18 players from Florida on the roster, recruit heavily in the area, so it was no surprise they were the first major program to come through with an offer.
