Michael Barber, who plays OL and DL for Clearwater and has been a major reason why the Tornadoes are a surprising 3-0, is starting to hear from major colleges.

Among them are Colorado State and Connecticut.

The latter requested video of the 6-foot-5, 285-pound senior this week.

Barber’s future likely is on the offensive line. He plays left tackle for Clearwater.

“He’s been doing great,” said heralded Tornadoes linebacker Jeremiah George.

Colorado State has offered scholarships to more than a few locals this year, so its interest in Barber isn‘t surprising. Last February, the Rams signed Countryside punter Pete Kontodiakos, who is having a terrific freshman season.
