Former Northside Christian and Indian Rocks Christian baseball coach Darrell Don is returning to Pinellas County. Don, who has been the baseball coach at Orlando First Academy since 2005, will take over as athletic director at Calvary Christian starting April 1. Don takes over for Greg Thiel, who took a position as head track and field coach at Southern Weslyan University in South Carolina.

Don, a graduate of Clearwater High, led Northside Christian to its most successful baseball season ever in 2002. The Mustangs were 32-3 and Class A state runner-ups. He won 20 or more games in all six seasons as the school’s baseball coach.
