Highly recruited Leto running back Jeremy Deering has been patiently waiting for a scholarship offer from Florida, and despite the program's sudden flux with the retirement of head coach Urban Meyer, it appears he will finally get that offer.

Leto offensive coordinator Frank Rose said he spoke with Florida coaches at 7:15 Sunday morning with a verbal offer. A promise was made that Deering would get a formal letter once the new head coach is named in five to six days, Rose said.

Deering, who has 40 Division I offers, has been waiting for a offer from Florida. He has made visits for Purdue and Illinois with visits to Florida State, South Carolina and Rutgers planned for next month. Rose said Deering won't make an official visit to Florida, because he's made several unofficials there already.
