Few college hoops fans outside Tobacco Road can truly understand to deep roots to the rivalry between Duke and North Carolina.

So when one sibling is playing for the Tar Heels and another decides to play for the Blue Devils, there's going to be a lot of talk.

This weekend, Sickles All-American junior Amber Henson committed to Duke, as the Times first reported Sunday night, prompting immediate message board chatter among fans from both schools, especially when the 6-foot-4 Henson said she'd still be wearing light blue to her brother John's men's games at UNC. John Henson is a 6-foot-10 freshman forward at UNC.

Amber Henson seriously considered going to school with her brother at North Carolina, and she had been to Chapel Hill countless times to see her brother play, but it seemed a key factor was Duke's medical program and the special program for student athletes interested in that field.

In the end, John Henson offered his sister his support.

On John Henson's Twitter account (which has 4,207 followers), he said, "Tried my hardest but, congrats to my sister on her commitment to Dook (sic)....guess ill be making a few more trips over there than expected. lol"

"Dook" is how Tar Heels refer to their rival. No word on whether John Henson will wear Duke blue to his sister's games in a couple years.

Amber Henson averaged 22.1 points, 12.1 rebounds and 4.9 blocks for the Gryphons as a junior, leading Sickles to the Class 5A region final.
