Admiral Farragut crowned three individual champions but fell short of catching Gulf, which boasted six champions, at the Class A, District 10 meet hosted by Indian Rocks Christian in Largo on Saturday.

Gulf scored 165 points to outdistance Admiral Farragut (118). Indian Rocks Christian was third (92).

AFA’s champions were Jack Pohler (106 pounds), Ricky Fuller (170) and heavyweight Noah Huntley.

IRC also had three class winners: Jarred Wolfenbarger (113), Jay Dugmore (126) and Connor Allshouse (138).

The top four wrestlers in each weight class advance to next week’s region meets.

Northside Christian’s Kamen Wilmington (132) and Alex Kruklinski (195) both took individual titles.

3A-8: St. Petersburg crowns two champs
St. Petersburg finished third (93.5 points), well behind host and winner North Port (276.5) to lead the Pinellas County contingent. Pinellas Park (82) and Northeast (78) were fifth and sixth, respectively.

St. Petersburg’s 160-pounder Thomas Moser scored a 9-5 decision over North Port’s Chris Fritz in the championship final. He was joined by teammate Brandon Mayhone, who won the 220-pound final 6-2.
