Dixie Hollins senior Ray Lanners committed to Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C., over the weekend.

Lanners was a first-team all-south county selection as a junior, hitting .286 with nine doubles, two home runs, and 22 RBIs.

Lanners will play for coach Tom Austin, one of only nine coaches in Division III baseball to reach the 900-victory plateau with a career record 985-414. Austin has guided the Monarchs to six D-III College World Series appearances.
