Jefferson junior softball standout Reina Baluja, a .362 hitter at Plant last season, has committed to Florida International University, Dragons coach Eve Soto-Suarez announced.

Baluja, an outfielder/pitcher, had a .681 slugging and .575 on-base percentage for the Panthers last season. She also went 2-0 as a pitcher with a 0.61 ERA. Soto-Suarez said she'll pitch, catch and play first and third base for the Dragons.
