Durant centerfielder Garrett Wright has committed to play baseball at the College of Central Florida, coach Butch Valdes said.

Wright, a senior, finished the 2013 season with a .319 batting average while recording 29 hits and nine RBI. Last year, Wright was one of three junior Cougars who hit at least .300.

Durant, which lost to Lake Brantley 8-3 in the 2013 8A state championship, will begin its regular season Feb. 28 against Strawberry Crest. The Cougars also return senior first baseman Paxton Sims, a University of Tampa commit.
