Durant QB Nick Fabrizio has received an offer from Navy, athletic director Todd Long said Thursday morning. Cougars head coach Mike Gottman said the 5-foot-11, 175-pound senior also has an offer from The Citadel. Fabrizio visited Georgetown, an FCS (formerly Division I-AA) non athletic scholarship school, last weekend and also has plans to visit Wofford, an FCS school in South Carolina.
Fabrizio, who led the Cougars to their first district title since 2003, was 49-of-97 (50.5 completion percentage) for 733 yards and rushed for 1,085 yards and 19 touchdowns on 129 attempts in Durant's veer offense. He was named the MVP of the winning team in the Dec. 10 Hillsborough County All-Star game, where he threw for a touchdown and ran for two more.
