Durant senior striker Billy Fanning reaffirmed his commitment this morning to Florida Gulf Coast University, a 3-year-old Division I program in Fort Myers.

Fanning, whose team is seeded third in this week's Class 5A, District 8 tournament, leads the Cougars with 19 goals this season. As a junior he collected 26 goals for a Durant squad that won 25 matches.

Fanning also had been recruited by Georgetown and William and Mary.

FGCU, which competes in the Atlantic Sun Conference, finished 8-7-1 last fall.
