Hillsborough senior receiver Charles Lovett sees himself as a school where he will have the ball in his hands often.
Several Division I colleges have offered the talented wideout, among them USF, Duke, Colorado State, FIU, FAU, New Mexico. He also has an offer from Division I-AA Towson.
But right now, Lovett said his favorite is East Carolina, mainly because new Pirates coach Ruffin McNeill was interim coach at Texas Tech last year and was an assistant for a decade under the high-tempo, pass-happy offensive schemes run by former coach Mike Leach.
"You know they're going to throw the ball a lot," Lovett said.
Lovett was one of the bay area's top receiving threats, making 44 catches for 1,108 and 8 touchdowns.
The 5-foot-8, 175-pound Lovett averaged 110 receiving yards a game to go with an eyepopping 25.2 yards per catch last season for the Terriers.
