East Lake girls basketball coach Steve Plummer has stepped down to take an administrative position at Dunedin.

“It’s a great opportunity for me,” Plummer said. “I love coaching basketball, but unfortunately I can’t do that and be an administrator. I will miss it.”

East Lake athletic coordinator Tim O’Keefe said the position has not been posted and there is no timetable set to announce a new coach.

Plummer led the Eagles to playoff appearances two straight seasons (2011-12), including an upset of top-seeded Palm Harbor University in the district tournament two years ago. Before coming to East Lake, he coached boys basketball and softball at Tarpon Springs.
