East Lake's boys basketball team moved up from the No. 3 to the No. 2 seed in the Class 8A, District 8 boys basketball tournament and will host No. 3 seed Palm Harbor University in the semifinals at 7 Tuesday night.

The district seedings had to be redrawn after the Florida High School Athletic Association ruled top seed Sarasota Riverview had an ineligible player during the first semester and had to forfeit its games. The Eagles lost twice to the Rams during that time but picked up two wins to improve to 5-1 in the district. East Lake tied North Port for the best district record but lost the top seed on a coin flip.

The Hurricanes and Riverview were tied for the bottom two seeds. PHU finished No. 3 seed based on a coin flip. North Port hosts Riverview in Tuesday's other semifinal. The winner of that game will host the East Lake-PHU winner in Friday's final at 7.
