East Lake kicker Daniel LaCamera has committed to Texas A&M after getting an offer from the Aggies on Tuesday.
"This was pretty much my dream school, and I didn't wait any longer," LaCamera said. "All I needed was the offer, and I was ready to go there."
LaCamera said Texas A&M had Justin Yoon, a five-star recruit, at the top of its board as far as kickers. Yoon committed to Notre Dame on Tuesday, and the Aggies offered LaCamera after that.
LaCamera, who is ranked as the No. 2 kicker nationally by 247Sports, also had an offer from Colorado.
"I was going to take a trip to Colorado on Wednesday," LaCamera said. "But once the offer came from Texas A&M, I talked it over with my family and decided this was the place for me."
LaCamera will handle kickoffs for the Aggies and could add field goal and punting duties. Last year, LaCamera was 74-of-79 on PATs and 7-of-14 on field-goal attempts. Of his 101 kickoffs, 80 were touchbacks. He was just as strong as a punter, with a 37.8 average, including six inside the 20.
Two weeks ago, he was named the top kicker at Florida's camp.
