Update: A USF offer did, indeed, come DiNovo's way Monday morning.
Pete DiNovo, coming off an MVP performance at this weekend's IMG Madden 7-on-7 nationals, picked up a big offer from UCF on Sunday night after guiding Team Tampa to the championship.
The East Lake quarterback said he's been in contact almost daily with UCF in recent weeks, and was hopeful an offer from the Knights was coming.
There could also be a USF offer on the way for DiNovo. He said the Bulls got in touch with him Sunday night and are expected to talk to him again in the morning.
DiNovo is Tampa Bay's top-rated quarterback, according to the Times. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound rising senior threw for 2,426 yards and 19 touchdowns last season, but has only picked up one offer, which is puzzling to many.
He was previously offered by Houston, and after a recent visit there, thought that might be the school for him. DiNovo said the school told him he was their No. 1 guy, but offered St. Thomas Aquinas' John O'Korn the following week. O'Korn promptly verbally committed to the Cougars, leaving a bad taste in DiNovo's mouth.
DiNovo said Indiana has also showed recent interest, but UCF was the offer he truly wanted, and is very likely his final landing place following his senior season at East Lake.
