East Lake QB Pete DiNovo now Pinellas County's career passing leader

East Lake senior quarterback Pete DiNovo is now Pinellas County’s all-time leader in career passing yards with 5,767. DiNovo surpassed the previous mark of 5,736 set by former Gibbs standout Shaun King, who went on to play for Tulane and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

DiNovo, a UCF recruit, entered this season with 4,030 career passing yards. He now has 1,737 yards this season after throwing for a career-best 375 and six touchdowns in a win over Sarasota Riverview that clinched a playoff berth in Class 8A, District 7.

DiNovo can extend those totals with games against Palm Harbor University and Clearwater remaining in the regular season, and at least one playoff game on tap.
