Last month, East Lake defensive lineman Hunter Snyder got his first offer from Florida Atlantic. After visiting the school two weeks ago, Snyder felt that was where he belonged and committed to the Owls on Sunday.
“I didn’t feel like I had to wait for any other offers,” Snyder said. “I liked the school and the coaches and decided that’s where I wanted to go.”
Snyder (6-6, 221) had 30 tackles last season and led the team in sacks with three. FAU coaches were impressed with Snyder in the spring. He was invited to a camp this summer and did well, which led to the offer.
“They’ve wanted me for a while, and the camp was what really got the process going,” Snyder said.
Snyder already is qualified with a 3.5 weighted GPA and an ACT score of 20. He said he plans to take the ACT again to increase his score.
Snyder is the fourth East Lake player from the Class of 2014 to commit to a Div. program, joining Devin Abraham (USF), Mason Cole (Michigan) and Artavis Scott (Clemson).
