The ESPN 150 rankings are out, and in a mild surprise, Plant's James Wilder Jr. doesn't sit atop the list. In fact, Wilder Jr. doesn't even make the top 5, the first list we've seen that leaves him out.
Instead, the Panther star comes in at No. 8, still the highest-ranked Floridian on a list that picks South Carolina prepster and defensive end Jadeveon Clowney No. 1.
Wilder, listed as an athlete, has recently been named No. 1 on analyst Tom Lemming's list for MaxPreps and No. 3 on the Rivals 100. Clowney is ranked No. 1 by Rivals and No. 2 by Lemming, pretty much making him the consensus No. 1 overall.
Nature Coast Tech's Ja'Juan Story picked up his first national ranking. After being excluded from the MaxPreps and Rivals lists, Story comes in at No. 41 on the ESPN 150.
Alonso's Anthony Chickillo, another no-show on the MaxPreps and Rivals lists, lands at No. 81 on ESPN's rankings.
Plant City's Jordan Prestwood, a Notre Dame commitment, is No. 89.
