Eveld among locals picked for Blue-Grey contest

Jesuit QB Tommy Eveld is among three local players chosen to compete in next month's Blue-Grey National All-Star Classic at Raymond James Stadium.

The event, put on by Pro-Motion Sports USA, features the top senior recruits who competed in regional combines at various NFL stadiums or training sites nationwide. Finalists from the Super Combine in Canton, Ohio, were invited to play for either the North or South squad.

Eveld only recently was informed he had been picked for the South team, his father said. Other local players on the South are East Bay DE Kieran Pettus, Freedom TE/DL Michael Brittingham and Mitchell LB/TE Chris Schalles.

The game is set for Jan. 14 at 8 p.m. It will be broadcast live online at FoxSportsFlorida.com.
