Admiral Farragut standout and USF commitment Rayshawn Jenkins is expected to miss two more weeks with a rib injury suffered prior to the team's only loss of the season to Canterbury Sept. 16.

Though Jenkins was cleared to play last week, Blue Jackets coach Chris Miller said Wednesday other doctors were consulted and the decision was made to keep the wide receiver/safety out of last week's win over Indian Rocks Christian.

"Rayshawn was cleared and then met with some more doctors, but because of where the fracture was, close to an artery in his neck, we decided we weren't going to risk him,'' Miller said. "He still hasn't played. He probably won't play until the Northside Christian game.''

The Blue Jackets (5-1) meet the Mustangs on Oct. 28.

Jenkins' replacement, Tyler Bauer, tore his ACL in last week's game, forcing Miller to reach even deeper into a thin roster for reinforcements as they try to hang on for a playoff spot. The Blue Jackets are 3-1 in Class 2A-5, trailing only Canterbury. But four teams are a game behind Admiral Farragut.
