Boca Ciega senior guard/forward Tamara Taylor scored 45 points and had 13 assists and nine rebounds in a victory over Indian Rocks Christian in the championship game of a tournament the Golden Eagles hosted.  Not too shabby for our player of the week.

And the honors keep coming as Taylor has been nominated for the McDonald’s All American girls basketball game, which features the top high school players. Coach Will White said a McDonald’s representative contacted him to say Taylor is being considered for the March 30 event, which will be held at the United Center in Chicago and will be televised on ESPNU.

Taylor, a USF signee, has led Boca Ciega to three straight final four appearances and surpassed the 1,000-point career mark before the season started.
