You can't miss Sarah Burrington on the volleyball court. At 6-foot-4, the Riverview middle hitter stands out on her own, and her presence alters a match. The Florida State commit might be one of the bay area's most complete players -- a powerful hitter and blocker in the front row who can also serve and dig a ball in the back row.

And now it appears that Burrington and here Sharks teammates are playing their best volleyball heading into this week's region quarterfinals. Burrington averaged 16 kills in three district tournament matches last week, all Riverview wins. Her 23-kill match Thursday led the second-seeded Sharks to a three-game upset over top-ranked Durant in the district final. Her eight blocks against Durant were a season high.
