Four Gulf boys soccer players and one Fivay player have been suspended by the Florida High School Athletic Association following a fight that ended Tuesday night’s game.

Gulf senior captain Travis Jehs has been suspended for six weeks for a “forceful push” during the altercation, FHSAA spokesman Corey Sobers said. Jehs leads Gulf with 14 goals.

Three other Buccaneers were given one-game suspensions for leaving the bench during the fight, lthough none of the three participated in the fight, Sobers said. The FHSAA fined Gulf $100 for each player who left the bench, and any additional level-two, six-week suspensions will result in a $250 fine, Sobers said.

A Fivay player was also given a six-week suspension for a forceful push, but the Falcons face no other penalties.
