Jefferson's talented offensive duo of quarterback Quentin Williams and wide receiver Andre Davis figure to receive several scholarship offers as their junior season progresses -- and they've just received their first.

Both Williams and Davis received a offer letter from Florida International, Dragons coach Mike Fenton said Thursday. Fenton also said that Davis received a verbal scholarship offer from USF.

Williams and Davis, who have been good friends since the first grade, are expected to be one of the area's top offensive tandems this season. Williams enters his second year as a starter and the 6-foot-2 Davis has emerged as his big-play receiver.

Interesting note about Davis' USF offer. Davis was one of the top players at this summer's USF Sling-n-Shoot 7-on-7 event.

The Dragons open up their regular season Friday against Hillsborough, continuing Hillsborough County's longest rivalry.
