Hillsborough WR/LB Dixon Phillips will make an unofficial visit to perennial Division I-AA power Furman on Oct. 31, when the Paladins play host to archrival Appalachian State.

According to Phillips’ mother, who will accompany him on the trip, Dixon will meet with the head coach, offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator while there. He’ll also have a chance to tour the campus and walk on the field during pre-game warm-ups.

In addition to Furman, Phillips has interest from programs such as Florida International, Illinois State and Lafayette.

Furman has had an excellent program for years.

The Paladins have historically faced one to two I-A programs each season, which adds to the attractiveness of playing there. This season, Furman has both Missouri and Auburn on its schedule.
