Fivay baseball is one of a handful of local finalists in Allen Sportswear’s Dress the Champions contest.

The contest promises new uniforms to the central Florida team that’s had to "rise above" adversity. Fans’ online votes at AllenSportswear.com/DTC decide the winner.

Fivay is without head coach Justin Kunick, who is hospitalized with stage IV cancer, as profiled earlier this week in the Times. The team has fared well without him, winning 12 of its first 16 games. The Falcons are now 13-9 and have used one of Kunick's sayings, "Rise above," as a motto all season.

Other finalists from Tampa Bay are: Alonso football, Alonso softball, Sickles football, Gaither baseball and Robinson girls basketball.

As of Thursday morning, Fivay had the most votes with 207.
