Fivay goalkeeper Brandon Taylor is expected to be released from the hospital today, one night after sustained a spinal contusion from a hard hit in Tuesday night’s 0-0 draw against Gulf, Falcons coach Eric Kruck said Wednesday morning.

Taylor bruised his spine after taking a hard hit to his face midway through the second half. He landed awkwardly when he hit the ground and was knocked unconscious. The game was stopped for 20 minutes as an ambulance took him to the hospital.

Taylor called his coach Wednesday and said that he's "doing much better" and can move his left leg. Kruck said doctors told Taylor that they expect to release him from the hospital later today.
