Fivay QB Tyler Degen makes it official with Campbellsville

One of Tampa Bay’s most prolific passers made his college commitment official Friday morning.

Fivay senior Tyler Degen signed with Campbellsville University, an NAIA program in Kentucky.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound athlete earned all-North Suncoast and all-Sunshine Athletic Conference honors. He threw for 1,873 yards and 22 touchdown passes – sixth-most in Tampa Bay – while completing 54 percent of his attempts.

Degen also passed for 16 TDs and almost 1,400 yards as a junior, leading the Falcons to the Class 5A playoffs in their first season of all varsity games. Fivay narrowly missed out on the postseason last fall.
